Sprayer tank quantities: practical guide
This guide explains how to use the Count.ie sprayer tank quantities. Calculate tank water, product quantities and final partial loads. Follow the inputs, method and worked example below, then compare your own scenario.

Open the Sprayer tank quantities calculatorWhat to prepare
- Record the area, stock or material measurements with their units.
- Use product specifications and an appropriate farm-specific rate rather than an unexplained default.
- Separate agronomic planning from tax-relief eligibility or contractual questions.
Understand the inputs
The calculation method
Final mixture rate = carrier water plus product volume per hectare. A full tank divides capacity by that total rate.
Worked example
Illustrative inputs and their result.
Example inputs
- Application area (ha)
- 10
- Carrier water (litres/ha)
- 200
- Label-selected liquid product (litres/ha)
- 2
- Final tank mixture capacity (litres)
- 1000
Calculated example result
- Total Product Litres
- 20 L
- Full Tanks
- 2
How to interpret the result
A farm quantity or allocation estimate does not replace agronomic advice, product directions or scheme eligibility checks. Soil, weather, crop and stocking conditions can alter the appropriate decision.
Compare equal areas or periods using explicit rates. Confirm the chosen rate and practical constraints with the relevant product, adviser or official scheme source.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not combine hectares and acres without a deliberate conversion.
- A modelled application quantity is not permission to exceed a product label or environmental limit.
- Check field variation and actual usable area before ordering or applying materials.
Assumptions and sources
Water input is carrier water, not final spray volume. Product volumes are assumed additive. Follow the authorised label, mixing order, PPE, application restrictions and calibrated equipment.
