Production capacity and takt time Calculator

Estimate parallel-machine good-unit capacity against production demand. This free production capacity and takt time calculator shows the calculation and its assumptions so you can compare your own figures.

How the production capacity and takt time calculation works

Good-unit capacity = machines × available seconds ÷ cycle time × yield. Takt uses combined machine seconds per demanded good unit.

Assumes identical independent machines, one unit per cycle and no downstream bottleneck. Sequencing and rework capacity are not inferred.

Using this calculator

  1. Enter your own figures in the labelled inputs. Keep the currencies, units and time periods consistent.
  2. Choose any applicable rate profile, pattern or assumption shown for this tool. Open additional inputs when relevant.
  3. Review good units capacity and capacity surplus units and capacity utilisation required percent, then read the stated assumptions and eligibility conditions before using the result.

This is a static example using illustrative inputs, not facts about you or today’s date. The displayed eligibility selections and assumptions apply only to this example.
