Home-project planner
Plan a renovation or garden-project budget, then track actual materials, labour, delivery, disposal and other spending against it. Revise any earlier step to update the downstream budget. Your figures stay in this page’s memory, not in storage or the address.
How to use this planner
- Enter planned materials, already including any wastage you need.
- Choose hours at an hourly cost or a fixed labour quote, not both.
- Add planned delivery, disposal and other costs, then set contingency and your optional available budget.
- Add, edit or remove actual spending entries in each category. Blank amounts and categories with no entered amount are unknown; enter 0 explicitly where nothing has been spent.
- Export a project file to resume on another visit. Import and review a file before choosing to replace the current project.
Illustrative figures. The values shown at first are examples only. Replace them with your own.
Privacy. Figures and descriptions stay in this page's memory and clear on reload. Nothing is sent or saved automatically. You can explicitly export an unencrypted project file to your device and import it later; keep that file private.
Assumptions and limits
- Contingency is added to the planned subtotal once, never to actual spending.
- Enter each quoted cost and each actual payment once, including any taxes you will pay. Do not count a full invoice and its deposit twice.
- Actual totals include entered amounts only, not a forecast of unfinished work. Remaining budget is not a promise of final savings.
- When no available budget is selected, remaining budget and overspend use the planned total including contingency.
- This is a consumer planning estimate, not a quote, business profitability calculation or tax calculation.
Plan your project, then add what you actually spend. Nothing is saved or sent automatically. Refreshing clears this page; export a file and import it later to resume.

Save or load a project file
The file is unencrypted and downloaded to your device, not uploaded by this tool. It includes your amounts and descriptions, so store it privately, especially on shared or cloud-synced devices. Count.ie does not save automatically or send your project figures over the network.
How the workflow connects your figures
Use either the fixed labour quote or hours multiplied by hourly cost, never both. Add materials, delivery, disposal and other costs. Add your contingency percentage to that subtotal, then compare the complete estimate with your optional budget.
Replace the illustrative figures with your own quotes and prices, including any taxes and charges you will actually pay. Figures stay in this page's memory and clear on reload. This is a planning estimate, not a quote or a recommendation. Materials should already include any wastage you need. The contingency is an additional allowance, not an estimate of a specific extra job. Avoid entering the same quoted cost in two places.
Tracking actual spending. Each payment is rounded to cents before it is added to its category. Actual spending has no added contingency. Planned category costs are rounded before summing; contingency is rounded and added once. Positive category differences mean recorded spending is above that category's plan, excluding the general contingency. The overall plan comparison includes contingency. Blank entries and missing categories are not zero; entered totals, remaining budget and overspend reflect recorded spending only. File imports validate inputs and recalculate every result; saved totals are never trusted.
